Dopo un tragitto magari lungo e faticoso, eccoci finalmente arrivati a destinazione nel nostro albergo. Queste conversazioni sono per interagire con il personale della reception. Enjoy your stay!

La prima è per chiedere informazioni sulla disponibilità di varie tipologie di camere, e per effettuare un’eventuale prenotazione.

Booking a room

Receptionist: Good afternoon! Welcome (benvenuto) to Splendid Hotel. How can I help you today?

Guest: I’d like to book (prenotare) a room. Is there a single/double/triple/family /room with a private bathroom (bagno)   free from 7th  to 10th April?

Receptionist: One moment, I’ll check. Yes, we have a room free for that date.

Guest: How much is it per night? Do you have half board (mezza pensione) or full board (pensione completa) ? /Is breakfast (colazione) included? Is there a reduction (riduzione) for children?

Receptionist: We don’t have full board. It’s  60 euros  per person per night in half board, including breakfast. Children under 12 pay 50 euros.

Guest: I’ll take it (la prendo).


La seconda conversazione riguarda l’accettazione all’arrivo in hotel, nel caso in cui si abbia già una prenotazione.

Hotel check-in

Receptionist: Good afternoon! Welcome to Splendid Hotel. How can I help you today?

Guest: Good afternoon, I have a reservation (prenotazione) under the name of Rossi.

Receptionist:  Yes, I see your reservation. You’ve booked (avete prenotato) a double room for five nights. Is that right?

Guest: Yes, that’s right.

Receptionist: Great! May I please have your ID/ passport?

Guest: Sure, here’s my passport.

Receptionist: Thank you.  Would you please fill in (compilare) the registration form? Thank you.

Receptionist:  Here’s your room key. You’re in room 321, on the third floor. The lift (ascensore) is on your left, and breakfast is served from 7 to 10 AM in the dining area. If you need anything else (qualcos’altro) , just let us know!

Guest: Is there an extra charge (supplemento) for the in-room service (servizio in camera)?

Receptionist: The in – room service is extra, that’s 3 euros.

Guest:  Thank you! Is there a good place to eat nearby (nelle vicinanze) ?

Receptionist: Sure. There are several great restaurants just a few minutes’ walk from here. I’d recommend  Bill’s Bistrot for some local dishes.

Guest: Sounds good. How far (quanto lontano) is the hotel from the city centre/ the railway station / the bus stop?

Receptionist:   It is at 10 minutes’  walk from the city centre /the main tourist attractions / the shopping centre.

Guest: Thanks for the help!

Receptionist: You’re  welcome (prego) ! Enjoy your stay (soggiorno)!

Complaints and requests

Guest: Good morning!

Receptionist: Good morning! How can I help you today?

Guest: I have a problem with my room. The air conditioning/ TV/ wi-fi  isn’t working (non funziona)/ There is no hot water/ The bathroom/ bed linen (biancheria del letto)  is not clean.

Receptionist: I’m sorry to hear that. Let me check if we can look at it right now. Could you tell me your room number, please?

Guest: It’s room 245.

Receptionist: Thank you. I will send someone to your room to check it.


Guest: Good afternoon. I  asked for a room with a double bed, but I have two single beds in my room/ My room is very noisy (rumorosa), can I change it?

Receptionist: I’m very sorry for the inconvenience. Let me see if we have another room available. Can you wait for a few minutes?

Guest: Yes, that’s fine. Thank you.


Guest: Please, can I have an extra blanket (coperta)/ pillow (cuscino) /towel (asciugamano)/ some soap (sapone)/ can I use the laundry service (servizio lavanderia) ?

Receptionist: Sure. I will send them to your room right now/ I will send you a maid (cameriera) for the laundry service.


L’ultima conversazione si svolge al termine del soggiorno, al momento della partenza.

Hotel check-out

Receptionist: Good morning! How can I help you?

Guest: Good morning! I’d like to check out, please.

Receptionist: Of course. May I have your room number, please?

Guest: Yes, it’s room 305.

Receptionist: Thank you. Let me check your bill (conto)… Okay, everything is in order. Would you like to pay by card or cash (in contanti)?

Guest: By card, please.

Receptionist: Here is your receipt (ricevuta). Did you enjoy your stay?

Guest: Yes, everything was perfect. Thank you!

Receptionist: I’m glad to hear that! Would you like me to call a taxi for you?

Guest: Yes, please. That would be great. Also, could I leave my luggage (bagaglio) here for a few hours?

Receptionist: Of course! The luggage room (sala bagagli) is over there on the left.

Guest: Thank you. Could I also have a bottle of water?

Receptionist: Of course! Here you are.

Guest: That’s very kind of you. Thank you for everything!

Receptionist: You’re welcome! Have a safe journey, and we hope to see you again soon.

Guest: Thank you! Goodbye!

Receptionist: Goodbye!
